An Inspiring Story
With just $1000, a back-pack and a laptop, Michael Samson arrived in Vancouver without knowing anyone. While born in Toronto, Michael spent 25 years of his life as a New Zealander and promised himself at the age of 10 to return to Canada and live in this wonderful country as an adult.
Wanting to connect with the local community, Michael Co-founded and is current President of the GuavaClub Society (now re-branded Ripple Effect), a not-for-profit organization that provides team-based volunteer events for young professionals looking to volunteer and network when their busy schedules permit. The GuavaClub has grown to 200 members, runs two+ events per month and was a finalist in Volunteer Vancouver's 2005 Innovation Award Category.
GuavaClub members started asking Michael if he could provide a "GuavaClub experience" for their respective companies. This proved most successful and with Market Research, the concept of Inspire Canada! was launched in 2006.
Inspire Canada! sole purpose is to support companies develop leadership and higher performing teams while establishing deeper connections to the community.
Results to date have proved tremendous.
